The WALCC Summit is held biannually to provide a platform for sharing research and demonstration results worldwide. The 2nd Low Carbon City Development World Forum was held in Beijing, China at the Wenjin International Hotel from 14th- 15th, May, 2012. The high-level conference was attended by leading researchers, companies, and city delegations with a strong interest in furthering the development of low-carbon cities. The program also included high-level keynote addresses from members of both industry and academia.

The 2nd Low Carbon City Development World Forum also served as the 6th Sino-Finnish Innovativeness Forum.
