Shenzhen hosts fruitful 6th Low Carbon City Development World Forum

The Sixth Low Carbon City Development World Forum, also known as the Second Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Conference, was held in Shenzhen, China from June 10–11, 2014. The Forum’s themes were ”Smart City and Sustainability” and ”Cleantech”. Issues relating to low-carbon urban planning, city administration, urban transportation, green building, and carbon emissions were also highlighted during the forum.

An important component of the Second Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Conference, the World Alliance for Low Carbon Cities Conference invited more than 150 international and domestic low-carbon city officials, representatives of international organizations, well-known international companies, local carbon business representatives, and famous scholars to share their opinions through this platform.

The overarching conference theme was “A quality path towards urbanization” and aimed to promote low-carbon development concepts and policy, aggressively mitigate climate change, and encourage  public participation. The Forum attracted 1,500 professional attendees from 45 countries and regions.
