London to expand Ultra Low Emission Zone across city

With its introduction of a congestion charge for entering central London in 2003, London set a record and paved the way for urban centers to shape mobility patterns which is extended the decades since. With the proposed expansion of this Ultra Low Emission Zone to cover the entirety of London, the city’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, aims to set into action steps to respond to the stark warnings issued by the recent IPCC report. London sees the need for significant reductions in the future, calling for a reduction in car traffic in the city by 27% before the decade is out.
